Captain Don Baker
At the helm of Butter is owner and captain, Donald Baker II. Don, or “Donny B”, grew up a boatyard kid on the North Shore of Long Island in the waterfront town of Stony Brook. His father owned and operated Stony Brook Boat & Motor, and later designed and manufactured small boats for many years. Don owned his first boat at the age of twelve and has owned one ever since. He’s been piloting the waters of the New England coast for forty-two years, the last eight of which have been on Lake Champlain. It’s Captain Don’s promise that all who spend time on Butter will have an experience unlike any other–always in a safe, fun atmosphere.
Don holds an active Captain’s License Credential by the United States Coast Guard. When not navigating the waters of Lake Champlain, Don spends time with his three teenage children. He holds an MBA and is the CEO and Founder of Vermont Laser Services.
How Many People Can Champlain Classic Charters Accommodate?
Utilizing our fleet, our private charter company can accommodate up to 10 passengers. "Butter", our classic boat can host up to 6 passengers not including Captain and crew with plenty of space to move around with a Beam (width) of almost 10 feet Butter is quite spacious , even with 8 people aboard.
"PEANUT" the other craft in the fleet is a slightly Smaller version of "BUTTER" more suitable for water-skiing and tubing accommodates up to 5 passengers very easily. Both Vessels have movable benches that allow for a variety of configurations.
